Job description

JOB SUMMARY:
The MIS Manager is responsible for the development, coordination and implementation of all computer hardware and software systems including Opera PMS, Simphony POS, Sage Accounting, Gateway Ticketing Systems, Secondary Systems such as Golf Now, Spa Book For Time, Paycom, Maintain-X, Assa Abloy Key System, Fortinet Firewalls, Extreme Networking, Wireless Communications, Isis/Arks Animal Care, Veeam Offsite Backups, Onsite Backups, Anti-virus Protection, Internet Suppliers, Microsoft Products, Email Products, Web Cameras, VM Servers, Accertify Credit Card Issues, and the training and management of personnel who will maintain these products.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Evaluate, select and implement appropriate hardware and software solutions
  • Develop and implement training programs relative to all computer systems
  • Identify and solve control problems within various departments as required through programming enhancements and control revisions
  • Responsible for proper maintenance and operation of all computer systems
  • Responsible for proper back-up of all systems
  • Responsible for management and supervision of MIS Department and personnel
  • Any and all other duties as assigned; duties are subject to change as management deems necessary to best serve the needs of Moody Gardens

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • College Degree in related field preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in managing an MIS department, preferably in a supervisory role
  • Experience with Point-of-Sale (POS) and Property Management (PMS) software

REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • Must be reliable and responsible
  • Ability to maintain a neat and professional appearance
  • Ability to be on-call 24/7 and work for multiple long days in a row as necessary
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to remain on feet standing or walking around the property for extended periods
  • Ability to perform tasks that require bending, kneeling, stooping, and reaching
  • Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds
  • Good hand flexibility and finger dexterity
