Job description

The Baillie Group is a cohesive, unified group of hardwood producers working cooperatively together with each retaining their distinctive and valued cultural identities.
AHI, a member of The Baillie Group, is recruiting for a Millwright; this position would require some travel, but will be based in our West Point, VA location. We are searching for a qualified individual who has experience with industrial equipment repairs. This is a full time opportunity working for a world class hardwood lumber manufacturer.
Millwright Responsibilities:
  • Disassemble and reassemble equipment for repair or transportation
  • Build foundation for machines
  • Construct and install equipment
  • Review and interpret engineering specifications, schematics and blueprints
  • Transfer equipment to the applicable site for maintenance
  • Grind and file machinery parts
  • Fabrication of both buildings and hardwood drying equipment, including servicing and replacing dry lines, kilns, etc.
  • Work with range of hand tools including measuring tools, welding and metal fabrication equipment
  • Follow all safety guidelines, policies and procedures
  • Traveling as needed.

Millwright Qualifications:
  • GED/High School Degree Preferred and an accredited Millwright certificate preferred
  • Minimum of at least 5 years experience as a Millwright or similar job
  • Experience with Cleereman, PHL and other hardwood specialty equipment manufacturers preferred
  • Experience and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Must be able to work well with all levels of personnel whether individually or in a team environment, and must be able to interface and communicate
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to travel
  • Must have a valid Driver's License, a clean driving record, and the ability to rent vehicles in your name
