ABOUT THE ROLE
Amrize is looking for a motivated Millwright Apprentice to join our aggregates maintenance team. This is a hands-on opportunity to learn the trade while working on crushers, screens, conveyors, feeders, and other heavy plant equipment in a busy aggregate's operation. You will work under the guidance of experienced journeyman millwright(s) and develop the skills needed to become a fully qualified Red Seal Journeyperson.ย 


WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Assist journeyman millwright(s) with the installation, alignment, maintenance, and repair of plant equipment (crushers, screens, conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, etc.)
  • Perform routine inspections, lubrication, and preventative maintenance tasks
  • Help with troubleshooting mechanical issues and equipment failures
  • Support shutdowns, planned maintenance, and emergency repairs
  • Learn and apply proper lockout/tagout, confined space, and safe work procedures
  • Maintain tools, work areas, and equipment in a clean and organized condition
  • Accurately complete work orders, maintenance logs, and other documentation
  • Participate in ongoing training and safety meetings
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.


WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Education:ย High school diploma or equivalentย 
Required Training/Certifications: Enrolled in (or willing to enroll in) a recognized Millwright apprenticeship program
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Additional Requirements:ย 

  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and in industrial environments
  • Physically able to lift 50 lbs. climb ladders/stairs, work at heights, and stand for extended periods
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, curiosity and willingness to learn
  • Basic hand and power tool knowledge
  • Previous experience in industrial, construction, or heavy equipment environments is an asset
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
