Job Title: Architectural Millwork Engineer

Location: Long Island, NY

Industry: Architectural Woodwork / Millwork (not residential cabinetry or fixtures)

Description:
We are seeking an experienced Millwork Engineer to join our team in a fast-paced, fully automated architectural millwork environment. The ideal candidate is a highly skilled professional with extensive experience in Microvellum and a deep understanding of custom architectural woodworking fabrication. Precision, efficiency, and familiarity with automated manufacturing processes are essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and prepare detailed engineering and shop drawings using Microvellum (AutoCAD-based).

  • Interface directly with CNC fabrication equipment; ensure drawings are optimized for production through Microvellum workflows.

  • Translate architectural and design intent into accurate, buildable millwork components.

  • Collaborate closely with project managers, production teams, and installers to maintain accuracy and production efficiency.

  • Work within a fully automated shop environment supporting high-end, custom architectural projects.

  • Maintain strict quality standards—errors in programming or design have significant production impact.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in architectural millwork engineering or related fields.

  • Expert-level proficiency in Microvellum—must already be fluent; this position is not for candidates transitioning from AutoCAD.

  • Strong understanding of custom woodwork fabrication and construction methods.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced production environment.

  • Preference for candidates local to Long Island, NY – relocation is not available.

  • Exceptional attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and technical accuracy.
