Job Description:
Position Summary:
Supervise CAD workflows while maintaining accurate sequencing and meeting all scheduling deadlines. Collaborate with the team to deliver a quality product.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Interpret design/drawings for craftspeople installing materials. Research and recommend resolutions to drawing interpretation problems, conflicts, interference, and errors
  • Schedule the project in logical steps and allocate time required to meet deadlines
  • Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, and other regulations
  • Perform complex assignments requiring a thorough knowledge of CAD system standards, practices, and techniques; recognize practical solutions to CAD issues
  • Develop increased proficiency in system operations with a resulting increase in productivity
  • Develop cabinet layouts, designs and renderings as required by clients and co-workers
  • Review cabinetry orders for accuracy and oversee timely deliveries
  • Communicate effectively with team members, sub-contractors
  • Communicate delays or issues to supervisor while finding ways to improve
  • Ensure extreme attention to detail and quality control
  • Provide safety and technical support to team members assigned to the Mill Shop
  • Study job specifications to determine appropriate construction methods
  • Process submittals and shop drawings
  • Maintain and keep schedules current
  • Maintain Request for Information (RFI) log
  • Create and maintain as-built documents
  • Create and track completion of punch lists
  • Assemble project close-out documentation

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Must have the following skills: blueprint reading and interpretation, scheduling and planning of tasks, understanding of how to measure and track productivity, and a fundamental understanding of the building process.
  • Must be knowledgeable of construction safety.
  • Must be knowledgeable with the various tools and equipment utilized in the Mill Shop.
  • Must be able to plan tasks
  • Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at heights as required.
  • Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 30 pounds and occasionally more.
  • Must be able to use arms and hands to reach for, handle, and manipulate objects.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for long periods
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Knowledge of design standards

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Educational and experience requirements may include:
    • Associate's degree in engineering or drafting technology or equivalent combination of formal education and training experience.
    • Usually requires a minimum of experience performing CAD related duties.
    • Ability to assume responsibility, interface, and communicate effectively with others.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record
