Position Summary
The Senior Millwork Engineer will be responsible for developing accurate, highly detailed shop drawings (AutoCad), engineering solutions, CNC programming, and production documentation for commercial millwork projects. This role requires strong technical expertise in Cabinet Vision and AlphaCAM, along with a deep understanding of commercial millwork construction methods and Woodwork Institute (WI) standards.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, production-minded, and capable of creating efficient engineering solutions that maximize profitability while maintaining compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Interpret architectural and interior design drawings, specifications, elevations, and sections to produce detailed submittal and fabrication drawings.
Ensure compliance with Woodwork Institute (WI) Custom and Premium Grade standards for cabinetry and countertops.
Research and evaluate materials, hardware, and construction methods for durability and manufacturability.
Expand and maintain Cabinet Vision libraries with reusable and easily modifiable assemblies.
Design custom assemblies based on project requirements and internal construction standards.
Generate complete bills of materials (BOMs) and buyout orders.
Produce fabrication-ready shop drawings and production documentation.
Generate CNC programs for nested-based machining centers using Cabinet Vision and AlphaCAM.
Create cut lists, shipment lists, production labels, and batch directives.
Coordinate with production teams to ensure accurate manufacturing execution.
Authorize production release based on completed engineering and CNC programming.
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial millwork manufacturing and installation.
Strong proficiency in AutoCad, Cabinet Vision and AlphaCAM (required).
Experience with Screen-to-Machine (S2M) workflows preferred.
Familiarity with wood veneer, plastic laminate, and commercial cabinetry construction methods.
Ability to read and interpret architectural and construction documents.
Strong understanding of commercial millwork fabrication processes and CNC manufacturing.
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Experience with additional CAD software is a plus.
