Job Title: Senior Project Engineer / Project Manager
Position Summary:
The Senior Project Engineer / Project Manager is responsible for leading and managing capital improvement projects, engineering initiatives, and technical problem-solving efforts within the manufacturing environment. This role works closely with plant leadership, production teams, maintenance personnel, and technical departments to identify operational challenges and implement effective engineering solutions.
The Senior Project Engineer oversees projects from initial concept through design, budgeting, installation, and final startup. This position requires strong technical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to coordinate multiple teams while ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget. Employees in this role are expected to follow all company policies, safety procedures, engineering standards, and management directives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Project Management
โ€ข Lead and manage capital improvement projects from concept through completion.
โ€ข Develop detailed project plans including scope, schedule, resources, and cost estimates.
โ€ข Prepare and present project justifications and return-on-investment (ROI) analyses to upper management.
โ€ข Manage project budgets and monitor costs to ensure projects remain within approved financial limits.
โ€ข Coordinate contractors, vendors, and internal teams during project execution.
โ€ข Oversee project timelines and ensure milestones are met.
โ€ข Provide startup assistance and commissioning support for new equipment or systems.
Engineering & Technical Support
โ€ข Identify operational problems or improvement opportunities within manufacturing processes.
โ€ข Conduct root cause failure analysis to determine causes of equipment or process issues.
โ€ข Develop corrective engineering solutions and present recommendations to leadership.
โ€ข Support plant operations by troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, or process issues.
โ€ข Review and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documentation.
โ€ข Assist in designing equipment modifications or new systems to improve efficiency, safety, or product quality.
Design & Planning

Qualifications
โ€ข Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or related field preferred).
โ€ข Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and industrial equipment.
โ€ข Experience managing capital projects in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
โ€ข Knowledge of engineering principles, materials, and mechanical systems.
โ€ข Experience conducting root cause failure analysis and implementing corrective solutions.
