Position Overview
Responsible for gluing, clamping, screwing, drilling and finish sanding on hardwoods, veneered materials and paint grade materials for the production of cabinet millwork pieces in accordance with Boise River Cabinets (BRC) specifications.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Responsible for pulling molding, label accordingly, correcting defects and final sanding of production pieces.
• Responsible for building hoods, island returns, mantles and other items.
• Responsible for verifying items are labeled with correct colors and cabinet numbers as well as marking where and how things need to be finished.
• Responsible for restocking department materials and being able to communicate what is needed to the millwork lead in a timely manner
• Proactively report production issues with detailed documentation to Cabinet Production Lead in order to immediately correct deficiency before further assembly or product delivery.
• Proactively communicate to Cabinet Production Lead on production throughput in order to maintain efficient project scheduling.
• Refer to shop drawings in order to ensure compliance with special instructions for cabinet assembly
• Learn about all aspects of the production process and fill in where assigned by Cabinet Production Lead
• Properly label all parts for follow-on assembly
• Identify, understand and be able to properly replace tooling on cabinet production machinery:
• If you notice that a tool isn’t running optimally
• If you find defects on items during the production process
• Proactively report material needs to the Millwork Lead, to include:
• Millwork raw materials
• Machine Maintenance replacement parts and consumables
• Tooling needs
• Labeling Needs
• Maintain clean and organized workspace with minimum distraction in order to focus on assigned duties and ensure production machinery is operating at optimal efficiency.
• Properly fill out re-work tracker each workday and submit to Millwork Lead at completion of work week.
Qualifications
• Completion of a training program or apprenticeship is desired
• Able to read a tape measure to 1/16”
• Must be personally driven and team oriented
• Must be able to operate assigned equipment safely and efficiently
• Able to remain calm and clear-headed
• Able to work under pressure to ensure deadlines are met
• Must be able to manage time effectively
• Must be attention to detail oriented
• Able to pass a background check
• Promote teamwork, collaboration, and cooperation
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
Physical Demands
• Frequent lifting from 5-40 lbs., unassisted (from 35-65% of the time)
• Occasional lifting from 41 lbs.+, assisted (up to 50% of the time)
• Access and mobility in tight spaces
• Working at Heights - over 5 feet, periodically
• Sustained periods of standing, sitting, walking, bending and kneeling
