Job description

We're seeking a Waste Technician in Decatur, IL!

Pay Rate: $20/hour, This is a TEMP TO HIRE position, 30-90 days.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM

Position Overview:
Responsible for moving various waste streams including non hazardous and limited quantities of hazardous waste such as scrap wood, plastics, cardboard, and paintline waste.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and organize various types of waste and recycling materials.
- Maintain accurate records and logs for all waste and recyclable materials.
- Operate forklifts and other trade tools as needed.
- Ensure compliance with waste management protocols and procedures.
- Work cooperatively with team members and CAT employees, taking direction from the immediate supervisor.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong time management.
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively.
- Physical ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Experience operating a forklift and other trade tools.

Key Interactions:
- Maintain organized operations for non-hazardous waste, hazardous waste, universal waste, and recyclable materials.

Key Details:
- PPE Requirements: Workers must have steel-toe safety boots that are leather and at least 6 inches high at the ankle. Additional PPE will be provided.
- Special Requirements: A photo ID is required for check-in with CAT security and to receive a badge.
