ROLE: MID-LEVEL LITIGATION ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY Commercial, Regulatory & Public Law

Locations: San Francisco, CA | Newport Beach, CA | Alexandria, VA | West Palm Beach, FL | Austin, TX

Job Type: Full-Time Work Model: Hybrid (Practice and Client Needs Dependent)

Experience Level: Mid-Level Associate (3-4 Years)

Practice Areas: Commercial Litigation | Regulatory Enforcement | Public Law | Administrative Law | Appellate Litigation 

Key Responsibilities:

Commercial Litigation:

- Handle commercial and corporate litigation matters

- Draft and argue motions in state and federal courts

- Support contract disputes, business tort claims, and fiduciary duty matters

- Assist with partnership, shareholder, and corporate governance disputes

- Participate in mediation and settlement negotiations

 

Regulatory & Administrative Matters:

- Support regulatory investigations and enforcement actions

- Analyze statutory and regulatory frameworks

- Participate in administrative proceedings

- Draft writ petitions and challenges to agency actions

- Communicate with regulators and government agencies

Litigation Management:

- Manage assigned cases and litigation workstreams with increasing independence

- Conduct written discovery and oversee document productions

- Prepare and respond to discovery requests

- Conduct legal research and draft substantive legal memoranda

- Participate in depositions, hearings, and mediations

- Assist with trial preparation and litigation strategy

Required Qualifications:

- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

- Active State Bar membership (any state)

- 3-4 years of litigation experience

- Experience handling matters in state and/or federal court

- Experience drafting dispositive motions

- Discovery management experience

- Strong legal research and writing skills

- Ability to manage multiple litigation matters simultaneously

Strong Plus:

- Experience at an AmLaw firm or litigation boutique

- Government litigation experience

- Regulatory enforcement experience

- Administrative law experience

- Appellate experience

- Judicial clerkship experience

- Complex commercial litigation experience

 

Preferred:

- California Bar admission (or ability to obtain promptly)

- Experience handling expedited proceedings

- Constitutional law exposure

- Public law litigation experience
