Description
AVER is a fast-growing SDVOSB that has achieved significant revenue growth over the past 5 plus years, with much of our work focused on Data Analytics, Mission Support, IT Modernization, and Biometrics. AVER is seeking a Microsoft Office 365 (O365) Expert with deep technical expertise across the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. This position will provide hands-on systems administration, architectural guidance, service optimization, and strategic support for Microsoft 365 capabilities supporting a mission-critical federal environment. This individual will work closely with technical and organizational leadership to support daily operations, modernization initiatives, and the continued evolution of the organization's Microsoft 365 environment. Responsibilities Include:
  • Serve as an embedded Microsoft 365 technical expert supporting daily operations, modernization initiatives, and O365 service management
  • Install, configure, administer, and optimize Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, Intune, and related workloads
  • Provide hands-on systems administration and advanced troubleshooting across the Microsoft 365 environment
  • Diagnose complex technical issues, identify root causes, recommend solutions, and drive issues through resolution
  • Develop, execute, and maintain test plans, validation procedures, and quality assurance processes to ensure the reliability and functionality of O365 services
  • Generate operational and performance reports using O365 data sources to provide insight into service health, availability, performance, and usage
  • Plan, design, and integrate O365 capabilities with existing and emerging enterprise infrastructure topologies
  • Ensure Microsoft 365 solutions and integrations align with enterprise architecture standards, security requirements, and organizational objectives
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Server Section personnel and OCIO/ITO leadership to recommend improvements and support mission-critical service delivery
  • Support the configuration and maintenance of O365 policies, settings, and deployment packages
  • Maintain expert-level awareness of the Microsoft 365 roadmap, security requirements, emerging capabilities, and industry best practices
  • Support continuous service improvement and optimization across the Microsoft 365 environment

Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field from an accredited institution
  • Master's degree preferred

Certification Requirements:

Experience Requirements:
  • 10+ years of technical analysis and systems administration experience
  • 8+ years of direct experience managing Microsoft Office 365/Microsoft 365 environments within enterprise or federal settings
  • Deep expertise across the Microsoft Teams platform, including governance, configuration, and lifecycle management
  • Strong hands-on experience administering and optimizing Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, Intune, and related Microsoft 365 workloads
  • Demonstrated proficiency configuring and maintaining policies, settings, and deployment packages throughout the O365 ecosystem
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft 365 integrations and service deployments
  • Strong understanding of Azure, Active Directory, Enterprise Mobility + Security (EMS), and Microsoft Intune
  • Experience troubleshooting and supporting backup, recovery, and continuity-of-operations technologies
  • Expert knowledge of security controls, compliance requirements, and Microsoft 365 security posture management
  • Proven ability to diagnose complex technical issues using structured troubleshooting methodologies and drive issues through resolution
  • Ability to operate independently, take ownership of technical challenges, and meet critical deadlines
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to confidently present recommendations and participate in detailed technical discussions
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams, leadership, and customers
  • Customer-focused approach to service delivery with a strong sense of accountability and ownership
