Job description

We are conducting water meter upgrades in the Irving, TX area and are hiring for EXPERIENCED Water Utility Meter Installers! Benefits include medical insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, employee assistance program, vacation & holiday pay and a 401(k) plan. All of our field staff are provided with:

  • Safety gear including company boot (allowance), vests, glasses, etc.
  • Paid Training at $22.55/hour
  • Company vehicle
  • Benefits include medical and dental insurance, vacation & holiday pay, 401K plan with possibility of overtime paid at time and a half

Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for replacing and testing existing water meters by installing a new water meter at residential or commercial sites to enhance metering solutions, accurately measure consumption, and ensure transmittal of signals to the network.

Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Must be able to walk up to 10-15 miles per day, outdoors in all-weather environments
  • Ability to perform physical duties such as lifting, pushing, pulling up to 50 lbs. of force unassisted. 

Working Conditions and Hours:

  • M-F 7:30am-4:00pm
  • Once training is complete, you will be paid per meter installation, with expected earnings up to $22-32/hour or more!
  • Outdoor work environment including rain, snow, extreme cold, or high heat
  • Driving to and from work sites may be exposed to road related hazards.
  • Exposed to unknown hazards at resident sites such as dogs.
  • Little supervision to give you freedom to work independently and manage your own day

Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Successfully complete the company’s training program and pass applicable written and field tests (Meterpro)
  • Learn and apply safety measure relating to motor vehicle operation and other field related matters
  • Ability to key data into handheld device. Basic computer skills helpful.  
  • Attention to detail and accuracy to record meter data
  • Ability to find locations/address by reading a map and handheld device and/or laptop.
  • Ability to use hand tools. 
  • Ability to perform physical duties such as lifting, pushing, pulling up to 50 lbs. of force unassisted.
