Join ABB Metallurgy Products, a global leader in Electromagnetic Stirring and Braking systems, where we empower the steel and aluminum industries to "outrun - leaner and cleaner." As our new Area Sales Manager for North America, you'll drive sales and helping customers in NAM improve efficiency, save resources, and significantly reduce emissions. This role reports to the Global Sales and Marketing Manager, Metallurgy products, and is the US, requiring approximately 50% travel.

The work model for the role is: Hybrid with a 30-70% travel requirement across North America with a preferred home location in the Midwest or Eastern parts of the U.S. #LI-Hybrid

This role is contributing to the Metallurgy Products, Business Line Metals, part of the Process Industries division.

Your role and responsibilities

As a senior sales professional, you will take ownership of growing ABB Metallurgy Products sales in assigned markets, managing sales volumes and margins to achieve ambitious targets, and developing strategic market plans for your designated territories.

  • Lead and grow sales in North America, managing volume and margin targets.

  • Develop strategic market plans and build long-term customer relationships.

  • Drive new business opportunities and stay ahead of market trends.

  • Manage technical and commercial aspects of offers, collaborating across teams.

  • Prepare budgets, forecasts, and support strategic sales initiatives.

Qualificationsfor the role:

  • Bachelors Degree Metallurgical Engineering or Electrical Engineering and 5+ years of experience or an Associates Degree and 8+ years of experience or HS Diploma/GED with 12+ years of experience is required.

  • Applicable job experience in B2B sales in Process Industries (steel/aluminum preferred)

  • Strong technical sales and customer relationship background

  • Knowledge of steelmaking processes (continuous casting/EAF a plus)

  • Fluent in English (Spanish is a plus)

  • Proactive mindset and a strong "can-do" attitude

  • Ability and willingness to travel 50-70% in assigned territory for customer visits and presentations

While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant's qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $79,800 and $148,200 annually and is bonus eligible.
