Job description

Find your calling at Mercy!Assists the physician and office staff with selected duties to include clerical processing, patient preparation, scheduling, lab, x-ray and medical records. As directed, performs patient care activities consistent with the established standards of nursing practice. The incumbent in this position shall carry out his or her responsibilities and integrate into his or her work ethic the Mercy Philosophy of caring for the sick and suffering, respect for human life and the dignity of each person, applying Christian values to all crucial human issues in the area over which he or she has responsibility. In communicating with patients, families, visitors and employees, a caring, friendly, personal and professional approach is expected. Performs related duties as assigned.   • New hire must attend MA Clinic Academy training. 

  • Must have completed all MA Competencies

Certification:
  • Caregivers can be hired as a Certified Medical Assistant if they are a Certified/Registered Medical Assistant.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience: One year of applicable patient care experience in an outpatient or ambulatory care setting.

  • Education: Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program

  • Certification(s): BLS (Basic Life Support) 

Physical Requirements: 
  • Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis. 

  • Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift. 

  • Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
