The Merchant is responsible for supporting the development of defined product categories, executing a retail business plan, aiding their team in strategic planning, managing and training new talent.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Execute and follow-up of retail assortment and category reviews
  • Create and hone business plans, including strong and detailed promotional programs. Maximizing Gross Profit Dollars and improving profitability of programs following direction of Senior Merchant and Director
  • Analyze and recommend various pricing strategies by item and category
  • Coordinate promotional plans to drive average basket and increase sales per sq. ft.
  • Collaborate across a cross functional team to maximize sales and profit for assigned business unit
  • Supervise, manage and develop team while maximizing productivity
  • Inventory collaboration for sales planning
  • Lead item transition process across all relative departments and define forecasts
  • Assist Space planner in roll out of new programs
  • Present plans to all levels of management including executives
  • Multitask and direct multiple projects simultaneously
  • Collaboration with brand development and packaging team
  • Execute and follow up with the operations team in order to execute new items and programs
  • Work with Inventory to recognize where items are at in the product life cycle

The anticipated salary range for this position is $117,300 - $176,000 depending on location, knowledge, skills, education and experience. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition, we offer comprehensive and competitive benefits to Associates (and their families) such as medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability. Eligible Associates are able to enroll in our company's 401k plan. Associates will accrue paid time off up to 236 hours per year (inclusive of PTO, floating holidays, and paid holidays). Paid sick time up to 80 hours per year unless otherwise required by law.

  • Bachelor's degree in business or a related field is required
Years of Experience
  • A minimum of 4 years' experience in Merchandising/Category Management or related field
Skills
  • Previous experience supervising and managing others is a plus
  • Excellent leadership, negotiating, presentation and planning skills a must
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Comfortable presenting to all levels of management including executives
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Physical Requirements
Corporate - Remote - General office environment requiring ability to:
  • Stand, walk, sit for extended periods of time.
  • Speak and listen to others in person and over the phone and video conferencing.
