Job description

Summary of Position
The Associate Campus Director of Small Groups is tasked with casting and maintaining the vision of small groups at The Summit Church in cooperation with the Small Groups team. They are responsible for the Small Group ministry of The Summit Church and serve as the primary point of connection for community and membership needs at the West Cary Campus.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Personal integrity and evidence of ongoing spiritual growth, as required of all church employees.
  • Is a self starter, but at the same time operates in a team context
  • Administrative gifting with strong organizational skills, detail-oriented
  • Has a teachable spirit and eagerness to learn.
  • Discretion in handling personal and confidential information
  • Ability to catalyze by forming relationships inside the campus
  • A member of The Summit Church or willing and able to become a member

Responsibilities
  • Small Groups
    • Implements the Small Groups Plan (ensures each small group understands and carries out Summit's Small Groups philosophy and plan)
    • Oversees recruitment of new small group leaders
      • Demonstrates vision for small group planting and multiplication; regularly evaluates applicants and identifies new leaders.
    • Oversees the training of new/existing small group leaders and plants new small groups
      • Collaborates with campus staff and elders regarding all small group trainings
      • Executes two campus small group trainings per year
      • Equips group leaders effectively
      • Strategically determines where, when, and how many small groups are needed in collaboration with the central small group's pastor
    • Connects individuals to small groups effectively
      • Organizes GroupLink
      • Determines the most efficient way to place individuals into small groups
    • Coaches campus small group coaches
      • Pairs elders with leaders
      • Grows a sustainable structure for the care of our leaders, and caring for leaders
    • Regularly assesses campus small group ministry
      • Evaluates the overall health of small groups
      • Determines small group needs
      • Contribute to Small Group curriculum as needed
    • Attends monthly Central Support Small Groups meeting
  • Membership
    • Oversees the membership pathway
      • Administrative leadership of membership process
      • Coordination with Adult Discipleship team for The Weekender
  • Sunday Responsibilities
    • Classes - Helps coordinate and facilitate, along with the Campus Pastor, the classes that are offered at the Campus

Churchwide Events
The hours for this position are expected to be 20 hours per week. As one church that meets in many locations, there are several times throughout the year that Summit holds church-wide events in an effort to do whatever it takes to reach all people. All staff members are expected to serve at these church-wide events regardless of the positions they hold.
Such events include, but are not limited to: Easter services, church-wide prayer meetings, Good Friday service, and Christmas services. Serving expectations will be communicated in advance of each event.
