Job description

The Technical Writer will prepare, edit, and manage program documentation with an emphasis on clarity, professionalism, and compliance with standards. They will author, standardize, and maintain key deliverables, including status reports, project plans, user guides, FAQs, training materials, and online help systems, ensuring consistency across all documentation. Responsibilities include developing templates, style guides, and a comprehensive documentation library, as well as collaborating with subject matter experts to ensure technical accuracy. They will gather user feedback to improve documentation quality, support training programs with tailored materials, and implement a consistent style to enhance usability. Additionally, they will maintain a documentation plan with regular updates, track best practices in technical writing, and ensure materials are accessible and relevant to diverse user groups and skill levels.
Requirements
  • SECRET Security Clearance Required
  • We are actively seeking multiple levels:
    • Junior: 0 - 3 years of experience + Bachelor's Degree
    • Journeyman: 4 - 7 years of experience + Bachelor's Degree
    • Senior: 8+ years of experience + Bachelor's Degree
  • Good communication skills, self-starter mindset.
  • Professional proficiency in English is required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Avalore will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position.

Work Environment:
  • Moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phone and printers) and /or occasional Loud noise (airfield, large equipment).
