Job description

Summary

A global manufacturer of high-performance materials used in mission-critical electronics is seeking an Applications / Sales Engineer to support customer-facing technical efforts across their PCB and advanced materials product lines.

This role sits at the intersection of engineering and commercial teams — working directly with customers to understand technical challenges, support product evaluations, and help drive adoption of specialized materials in demanding applications like aerospace, defense, and industrial systems.

This is a strong fit for an engineer who enjoys working with customers and wants to move into a more outward-facing, solution-driven role without being a pure salesperson.

Key Responsibilities

• Work directly with customers to understand technical requirements and recommend material solutions
• Support product evaluations, testing, and implementation within customer manufacturing environments
• Deliver technical presentations and product education (in-person and remote)
• Partner with sales to support account growth and new business opportunities
• Assist engineers and customers with material selection, processing techniques, and troubleshooting
• Participate in field trials and new product introductions
• Build relationships with key stakeholders across assigned accounts
• Collaborate with internal engineering, product, and marketing teams
• Stay current on industry trends, competitor products, and emerging technologies
• Support industry events, trade shows, and technical seminars as needed

Requirements

• Background in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Materials, or related)
• 3-7 years of experience in manufacturing, materials, or engineering environments
• Exposure to customer interaction, technical support, or cross-functional collaboration
• Experience with materials, electronics, PCB, laminates, composites, or similar is a plus
• Strong ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Interest in working in a customer-facing, solutions-oriented role
• Ability to travel as needed for customer visits and industry events

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary: $110K-$125K + commission
• Annual bonus structure

• Medical, dental, and vision insurance
• 401(k) with company match
• Long-term growth within a global, established manufacturer
