Job description

Medical Assistant

The pay range for this position is $17.14- $28.34 based on direct and relevant experience.

RAYUS Radiology is looking for a Medical Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting the Provider with daily functions of the Clinic and provide general administrative support to the department.

This is a full-time position working Monday-Friday various 8-hour shifts between 7:30am-5:00pm at our Blaine, Woodbury and Burnsville centers; traveling to other locations throughout the metro as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Greet patients and escorts them to the exam room
  • Take and record patient vitals and temperature
  • Assist technologist or physician assistant (PA) in the room as needed
  • Enter patients' past medical information and provider orders into RIS, locate previous medical records, and schedule patient appointments for the follow-up clinic
  • Communicate directly with supervisor regarding patient medications and possible contra-indications
  • Start patient IVs
  • Assist with oral sedation

ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT:

  • Monitor the clinic's patient schedule, assist with managing add-on appointments and follow up appointments
  • Facilitate the patient flow, with direction from supervisor
  • Discharge the patients from the clinic with appropriate information and documentation
  • Call or fax patient prescriptions to the pharmacy
  • Place follow-up phone calls to patients prescribed pain management medications or narcotics to check if additional treatment and/or a follow-up appointment is required
  • Document all patient prep calls in RISLogic or aRies systems
  • Assemble next day's H&P paperwork at assigned location on a daily basis
  • Manage all incoming phone calls from patients regarding past procedures or treatments, with guidance from the Supervisor
  • Coordinate patient flow, with scheduling and front office, to fit in schedule add-ons
  • Maintain office supplies within department and stockroom
  • Assist with cleaning exam rooms
  • Provide daily updates to the Supervisor regarding individual work schedule and completion of the day's tasks, etc.

(5%) Performs other Duties as Assigned

Required:

  • High School Diploma, or equivalent
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program
  • Certified in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite applications; Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams etc.
  • Ability to travel between assigned Centers, a reliable means of transportation is required
  • Valid driver's license and proof of current insurance is required for the team member to personally drive a vehicle for company business (regardless of whether it's a company or personal vehicle)

Preferred:

  • Medical office experience and familiarity with radiologic procedures and medications
  • Certified Medical Assistant
  • Bilingual
