Job Description

As a member of the care team, the Medical Assistant supports quality patient- and family-centered care principles through performing a variety of high level functions within a care team to support the needs of the healthcare team and patients/families. The Medical Assistant will gather information and documents to support the patient visit. The medical assistant is responsible for adhering to all policies, procedures and practice guidelines, promoting teamwork with all members of the health care team, maintaining complete, timely and accurate clinical documentation for each patient and continually looking for opportunities to improve processes and workflow.


Qualifications

High school diploma or GED

Medical Assistance Diploma 

AHA BLS certification 

Medical Assistant with at least 6 month of experience

EPIC experience always preferred

Basic Computer and Phone skills

Reliable, good with patients, good team player, okay with fact paced work environment

Excellent customer service, public and patient relation skills, and communication skills.

Ability to prioritize work and fluctuation in workload.

Self Motivated Problem Solver

Additional Information
Hours for this Position:
Monday-Friday 8:00am am-5:00pm  

Minimum Education/Licensures/Qualifications:

2 years of Medical customer service rep experience

Understanding of Medicare and Commercial insurance

Able to verify insurance

Ability to adapt to a constantly changing environment

Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and computer literacy

Must have EMR skillset

Strong attention to detail, multi-tasking, communication, and organizational skills are essential

Demonstrated ability to accurately perform data entry and pay close attention to detail
