Medical Receptionist Full Time, Palisades Pulmonary & Medical, West Nyack, NY
Starting rate: $21.00 per hour, negotiable

Highland Medical, recently certified as a โ€œGreat Place To Workโ€, a division of Montefiore Nyack Hospital, has an opportunity for a full-time Medical Receptionist at OBS-GYN of Rockland.

The Medical Receptionist receives patients at the front desk, greeting and checking them in. Responsible for registration, scheduling appointments, insurance verification, collection of co-pays/deductibles, pre-certification or authorization of accounts. Responsible for setting up patient charts for new patients. Scan and copy pertinent information into electronic patients' charts (EMR system) Training would be provided. Performs various secretarial and clerical functions in support of the medical office.

Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma required; some college level courses or degree preferred.

Work Experience: One to two years administrative experience preferred in a medical office or hospital setting.

Other: Proficiency in multi-tasking and organizational skills while supporting a multi-line phone system. Working knowledge of an EMR system. A thorough understanding of medical office terminology and procedures, insurance carriers including Medicare and Medicaid. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, email, faxing and scanning. Must be dependable, have good work ethic and be able to travel occasionally to other offices.
