Medical Receptionist - Part Time
Overview:
Square Care Medical Group in partnership with Unified Women's Healthcare New York is currently seeking an experienced, compassionate and dedicated individual to fill the position of Medical Receptionist in our Woodbury ObGyn practice. Square Care Medical Group is the largest women's health organization on Long Island. We offer several specialties with 70 providers across 20 locations, and are a recognized leader in our industry.
The Medical Receptionist is responsible for performing various administrative tasks to ensure the practice runs efficiently. These duties include patient registration, insurance verification, and maintenance of health records. Other duties include scheduling appointments, answering phones, and performing data entry. This candidate will assist in promoting a positive patient experience as outlined in our mission, vision, and values.
Responsibilities:
  • Welcomes patients, visitors, and outside vendors to the medical practice
  • Patient registration and appointment scheduling
  • Scanning and processing patient health information in EHR
  • Verify patient insurance benefits and eligibility
  • Collect and process patient balances
  • Obtain prior authorization for office visits, and radiology services
  • Answer patient questions and provides assistance and directions when necessary
  • Process messages within EHR for patients and providers relating to patient care
  • Performs other duties as needed
  • Maintains all compliance standards as determined by the Medical Group

Experience & Qualifications:
  • 1+ years of experience working as an administrative assistant or relevant role a plus
  • Friendly, compassionate and energetic disposition
  • Courteous to all patients and visitors
  • Contributes to a positive and caring workplace culture
  • Works well in a team setting as well as independently
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Ability to multitask and manage responsibilities in a fast-paced work environment
