Medical Receptionist Ophthalmology (FT, M-F, $22-26/hr)

We're looking for a professional, detail-oriented medical receptionist to be the welcoming face of our practice and support our patient-focused team. Compensation & Schedule:

  • $22-26/hour based on experience and qualifications
  • Full-time, on-site position
  • Monday-Friday hours, no weekends, occasional evenings

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet patients warmly and manage check-in/check-out processes
  • Handle multi-line phone system, schedule appointments, and address patient inquiries
  • Process insurance verifications, authorizations, and patient registration
  • Maintain accurate patient records in electronic medical records (EMR) system
  • Collect co-pays and assist with billing procedures
  • Coordinate patient flow and support clinical staff with administrative tasks
  • Ensure HIPAA compliance and maintain confidentiality of patient information
Qualifications:
Must Have:

  • 2+ years professional office experience with administrative duties (medical offices, corporate settings, or professional services)
  • Strong software skills with databases, scheduling systems, or EMR platforms (we use EyeMD EMR and Open PM)
  • Excellent customer service and professional communication skills
  • Understanding of confidential information handling and HIPAA/PHI requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
Strongly Preferred:

  • Medical office or healthcare administrative experience
  • EMR systems experience (Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, NextGen)
  • Insurance verification and billing knowledge
  • Medical terminology familiarity
  • Bilingual abilities (English/Spanish)
