A Day in the LifeThe Facilities Program Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing facility-related programs, projects, and operational improvements across assigned sites or regions. This role ensures that workplace environments are safe, efficient, compliant, and aligned with business needs. The position manages cross-functional initiatives involving maintenance, space planning, vendor coordination, capital projects, and facility standards, while supporting continuity of operations and an effective employee experience.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Minimum 6-10 years of experience managing capital projects and programs consisting of facility infrastructure & engineering projects, manufacturing construction projects, laboratory projects, and/or corporate real estate and workplace projects.
  • Mastery-level knowledge and broad understanding of facilities and construction project management.
  • Ability to travel 25-50% in support of project delivery, stakeholder engagement, supplier management, and site governance.
  • Physical ability to walk stairs, climb ladders, and navigate uneven terrain at job sites; able to perform site walks that may require standing for most of the day.

Responsibilities

  • Lead projects through the entire project lifecycle including business case development, programming, site selection, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, occupancy, and closeout.
  • Lead remote & local teams in the delivery of projects simultaneously, ensuring alignment and timely delivery.
  • Direct and manage external design consultants, construction managers, contractors, and service providers to achieve project objectives related to scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety.
  • Develop project business cases, manage capital budgets, risk assessment, forecast project expenditures, monitor financial performance, and ensure alignment with approved funding.
  • Partner with Facilities Operations, Real Estate, EHS, Quality, IT, Design, Security, Engineering, Sourcing, Finance, Legal and site leadership to ensure alignment to local & national regulatory requirements, applicable corporate policies, commissioning, qualification requirements, and the successful transition to Facility Operations.

  • Ability to support procurement strategies, contract development, vendor selection, commercial negotiations, and change management processes.

  • Facilitate effective conversations, ask probing questions, and foster collaboration to uncover critical information.

Preferred Experience & Skills

  • Degree in engineering (mechanical/electrical), construction management, or related field preferred.
  • Strong financial acumen: experience developing cost estimates, capital/expense budgets, forecasts, and status reports.
  • Experience leading facility infrastructure projects in medical technology, pharmaceutical, or semiconductor industries.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate with manufacturing operations to minimize downtime and mitigate impacts.
  • Experience with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and controls infrastructure for complex manufacturing operations.
  • Understanding of building systems, including clean dry air, bulk gases, purified water, wastewater treatment/neutralization, emergency power generation, and UPS systems.
  • Experience guiding cross-functional teams through design, construction, commissioning, and qualification of mechanical systems (e.g., HVAC, compressed air, emergency power generation, wastewater treatment, sterilization in manufacturing environments.
  • Professional, proactive, and concise communication skills for diverse audiences, including project teams, leadership, and regulators.
  • Experience working within an ISO13485 quality management system and adhering to good documentation practices.
  • High proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project).
  • Proficient with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam); AutoCAD and BIM experience is a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction design drawings and familiarity with design development processes.
  • Familiarity with construction delivery methods and contract types.
  • Team-oriented with strong interpersonal relations, positive attitude, and work ethic aligned with company mission.
  • OSHA 30 Hour construction safety certification or equivalent safety management expertise is a bonus.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English; Local language proficiency is required.
  • PMP or PE Certification is a bonus.

Location:Puerto Rico (Onsite, 4 days/week; travel 25-50%)

For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.
