The 61st Street Service Corporation, provides administrative and clinical support staff for ColumbiaDoctors. This position will support ColumbiaDoctors, one of the largest multi-specialty practices in the Northeast. ColumbiaDoctors practices comprise an experienced group of more than 2,800 physicians, surgeons, dentists, and nurses, offering more than 240 specialties and subspecialties.

Job Summary:

The Medical Practice Associate will be assigned to provide coverage for any of the faculty practice departments and locations as well as the main reception desk.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Greet and interact with patients. Answer telephone calls.
  • Collect, update and verify patient demographic and insurance information and referrals in patients chart.
  • Perform insurance eligibility and verification as needed.
  • Check patients in for their appointments and make follow up appointments.
  • Collection of copayments and posting of payments, daily reconciliation of the cash drawer.
  • Obtain insurance pre-authorizations for treatments and diagnostic procedures.
  • Schedule follow up care and provide patient with appointment card and necessary instructions.
  • File and pull charts as needed.
  • Facilitate physician and patient administrative needs.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma required. Bachelors degree helpful.
  • 1 year minimum experience in an office environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of Epic or other electronic medical records system desired.
  • Ability to work flexible hours/days.
  • Knowledge of Spanish is a plus.

Hourly Rate Ranges: $19.00 - $23.00

Note: Our salary offers will fall within these ranges based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to experience, skill set, training and education.
