Job description

Responsibilities

Responsible for leading the verification process for medical staff incumbents. Completes physician, nurse practioner and other provider verifications and ensures that the organization and staff are in accordance with staff by-laws, industry trends and standard credentialing procedures. May complete administrative duties such as ensuring state medical licenses are up-to-date and checking the status on new license applications. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to top management. . Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.

Qualifications

Education:  Associates Degree in healthcare related field required. Bachelor's degree in area of specialty preferred

Experience: 

1-2 years (5 years preferred) previous credentialing experience required,working knowledge of MD Staff Credentialing software, high level of communication skills to speak with physicians. Faciliate correspondences to high level professionals including physicians. Accurately prepare memos and reports for Medical Executive Committee. Extensive experience with Excel spreadsheets and databases.

Licenses/Certificates:  Credentialing Specialist certification (CPCS) preferred.
