Job description

Job Title: Document Processor 

Pay Rate: $18/hour 

Shift: Assigned between 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM (location varies based on workload) 

Location: On-site at various offices in Covington, Louisiana

Job Type: Contract (Estimated 30-40 weeks)

Overview: 

TEKsystems is hiring Document Processors to support a large-scale digitization initiative across regional offices in Louisiana. This project involves converting physical records into secure digital formats to improve accessibility and efficiency. This mission is critical, and we’re looking for driven individuals who take pride in contributing to meaningful, purpose-driven work. 

This role may include responsibilities in both document preparation and scanning, depending on project needs. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Document Preparation: 

  • Organize and prepare physical documents for scanning (remove staples, paper clips, sort files) 
  • Lift and move boxes of records (Approx. 35-50 pounds) 
  • Maintain document integrity and order 

Document Scanning: 

  • Operate industrial scanners to digitize documents 
  • Ensure quality and accuracy of scanned files 
  • Upload files into secure databases 

Additional Details: 

  • Travel between offices within your assigned region is required 
  • Viewing sensitive content is part of daily responsibilities 
  • Reliable transportation is essential 
  • Mileage reimbursement provided for travel exceeding 50 miles or 1 hour from home base ($0.70/mile) one way OR for travel exceeding 100 miles or 2 hours from home base.   

Qualifications: 

  • Experience with document scanning or large-scale digitization projects 
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control 
  • Familiarity with secure document handling 
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills 
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively 
  • Proficiency with Office 365 (Word, Excel, Windows Scheduler) 
  • Must be local to assigned region 
  • Smartphone required for team communication 
  • Strong tenure in previous roles (no more than 2 jobs in the past 2 years)
