What You'll Do

As Business Development Manager, you'll own new business growth within assigned accounts - leading the full sales cycle from prospecting through contract execution, and partnering across Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, and Finance to bring winning proposals to life.


Revenue Growth & Pipeline Ownership

  • Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities within assigned accounts to maximize potential and meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Own and maintain a steady pipeline of qualified opportunities to drive consistent revenue growth.
  • Identify, understand, and communicate customer needs to drive strategic alignment and business growth.
  • Partner with Sales Leadership to develop and execute strategies for new verticals, regions, or customer divisions.

Relationship Building & Networking

  • Visit assigned customers regularly to build deep relationships and strengthen PMC's competitive position within the account.
  • Lead customer engagement opportunities, including proposal presentations, Lunch & Learns, and facility tours.
  • Serve as the primary advocate for the customer experience, coordinating with Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Finance to resolve commercial issues.
  • Represent PMC at trade shows, conferences, and industry networking events.

Sales Process Execution & Deal Management

  • Lead client engagement from initial prospecting through RFQ response, proposal development, and contract execution.
  • Coordinate the RFQ and quoting process with the estimating team, ensuring timely, accurate proposals.
  • Manage the end-to-end sales process, keeping pipeline activity, call reports, and account development reporting current.

Market Expansion & Strategy

  • Partner with Sales Leadership to identify and engage high-potential prospects aligned with PMC's strategic objectives.
  • Conduct market research to assess new business opportunities, analyze customer fit, and shape lead generation strategies.
  • Provide recommendations to leadership on strategic opportunities and market threats.

Requirements

What You Bring

  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in direct sales or account management for a manufacturer is required.
  • Bachelor's degree required (Engineering/Technical, Marketing, or Business Administration preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple customer accounts simultaneously.
  • Experience with consultative, conceptual selling - able to deeply understand a customer's business, challenges, and goals to recommend solutions.
  • Demonstrated success with customer presentations and negotiations.
  • Experience selling in a contract manufacturing business (products, components, assemblies, resin, or tooling) required; experience in the medical device market and plastic injection molding is a strong plus.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and collaborative, with a strong bias for action.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and use of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
  • Willingness to travel for customer meetings, trade shows, and site visits.
