POSITION SUMMARY:
The Administrative Assistant coordinates the daily flow of operations through the Corps office and supports administrative, program, and community service functions. This position serves as a primary point of contact for individuals interacting with The Salvation Army and assists with office administration, food pantry operations, seasonal programming, and related Corps activities. The role requires professionalism, organization, confidentiality, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Administrative and Office Support
  • Respond to and direct incoming calls, visitors, emails, and other inquiries to appropriate staff while providing professional assistance to individuals contacting The Salvation Army.
  • Maintain organized general and personnel files in accordance with organizational procedures.
  • Prepare purchase orders for office, janitorial, and pantry supplies.
  • Maintain inventory of office equipment and supplies.
  • Maintain clean and orderly office and pantry areas, including light janitorial duties as needed.
  • Assist with cash handling and preparation of bank deposits as directed by the Corps Officer.
  • Attend community meetings and events as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Corps Officer.

Food Pantry and Social Services Support
  • Provide social service assistance to clients as needs and available resources allow.
  • Maintain food pantry inventory records and ensure pantry items are stocked and rotated appropriately.
  • Prepare purchase orders for pantry-related needs.
  • Pick up donated food and supplies from community partners using a Salvation Army vehicle.

Program and Seasonal Support
  • Assist with summer youth ministries and seasonal programming, including youth camp coordination, Vacation Bible School support, and related activities.
  • Support Christmas season operations, including additional duties and hours as required.
