Position Summary

We're seeking a high-caliber Media Director to lead media strategy, planning, and buying for our leading golf specialty retail brand. This role requires a leader who can command a room of senior stakeholders and inspire a high-performing team. You will sit at the intersection of traditional media excellence and retail media innovation, requiring a strategic thinker who can drive measurable business results while building our retail media capabilities from the ground up.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Media Planning & Buying:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive media strategies across paid, owned, and earned channels to drive store traffic and online sales.
  • Lead all media planning and buying activities, including negotiation with media partners and agencies.
  • Manage media budgets efficiently while maximizing ROI and incremental sales impact.
  • Analyze campaign performance and leverage insights to continuously optimize media investments.
  • Stay current on media trends, emerging platforms, and golf/retail industry dynamics.

Retail Media Implementation:

  • Implement a retail media strategy that creates incremental revenue opportunities
  • Identify and establish partnerships with relevant retail media networks and platforms.
  • Develop frameworks for measuring retail media effectiveness and its impact on overall business objectives for our organization and our partners.
  • Build internal capabilities and education around retail media best practices.
  • Ensure retail media initiatives complement and enhance existing media strategies.

Executive Leadership & Team Management:

  • Directly lead and mentor a team of media professionals, fostering a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous professional development.
  • Serve as the primary voice of media to the C-Suite, delivering compelling presentations that translate complex data into clear, actionable business narratives.
  • Partners with merchandising, e-commerce, and store operations teams to align media efforts with business priorities.
  • Collaborate with creative teams to ensure messaging resonates with our target audience.
  • Manage high-level relationships with external agencies and media vendors, ensuring they deliver as an extension of our internal team.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

Required Qualifications:

  • 12+ years ofmediaplanning and buying experience, with significant time in a client-side or in-house role.
  • Proven experience in a people-leadership role, with a track record of hiring, developing, and retaining top-tier talent.
  • Deep expertise across digital and traditionalmediachannels.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience usingmediameasurement and attribution tools.
  • Proven track record of developing data-drivenmediastrategies that deliver business results.
  • Experience managing substantialmediabudgets.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and vendor management experience.
  • Understanding of attribution modeling, incrementally testing, rapid test and learn optimization.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated success driving incremental sales in aretailenvironment.
  • Knowledge ofretailmedianetworks and their applications.
  • Experience in specialtyretail, sporting goods, or lifestyle brands.
  • Exceptional executive presence; the ability to influence senior leadership and act as a trusted advisor to the executive team.
  • Mastery of communication, with the ability to create and deliver high-impact presentations for diverse audiences.
  • Strategic mindset balanced with hands-on execution capabilities.
  • Entrepreneurial approach to building new capabilities (retailmedia).

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

  • Monday - Friday onsite, based out of our Roswell, GA Store Support Center. Flexibility to work extended and varied hours as needed.
  • Must be able to stand and/or sit for extended periods of time as the job is completed primarily at a desk each day. Variable desk heights are offered so alternatively sitting and/or standing at the desk is optional.

Travel:

  • Up to 20% of travel is required.
