Purpose

The Senior project manager's goal is to drive forward projects in a mechatronic product development environment for internal and external customer projects in order to achieve project milestones on time, with good quality, and within budget.


Responsibilities

  • Plans projects, including structure plans, task descriptions, and resource allocation in close cooperation with the department managers

  • Evaluates time, costs and project risks. Prepares project requests for approval and organizes the successful project launch

  • Manages and controls projects, including the provision of project forecast and regular reports

  • Closes out projects, including handover to finance, operations and the customer, including complete documentation

  • Communicates with internal and external customers and promotes interdisciplinary exchange and communication

  • Coordinates cross-functional teams, mediates between various conflicting goals, and escalates appropriately when necessary

  • Guides the project team and its individual members through the various project phases with their different approaches (concept evaluation, design implementation, assembly and verification, transfer to operational use)

  • Ensures that project obstacles are removed and appropriate and accepted decisions are made

  • An associated degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field is required.

  • Several years of professional experience as a developer in the field of mechatronic products including electronics, firmware and sensor technologies is required

  • Experience in Project Management in the field of R&D is required; ideally around 3 years, but we’re also open to strong candidates with less experience

  • Mastery of project management methods (e.g., project plans, open point lists, risk assessments/FMEA, qualification planning, V-model, agile methods, etc.). Project Management Certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is an advantage

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in German and English

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Confident use of ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and professional Project Management Software (e.g., MS-Project)
