Job description

Job Title: Meat Cutter

Department: Meat

JOB SUMMARY

Cut meat and other products for sale to ensure customer requirements are met.

RESPONSIBILITIES

(E=Essential   A=Additional)

E   Provide products and services that are competitively priced, always meet the requirements of internal and

external customers and abide by the Company’s Mission Statement.

E   Maintain cleanliness of equipment, tables, utensils, floor (to ensure safety) and sanitation regulations are met.

E   Cut meat to be sold to customers by taking the boxed meat or carcasses out of the cooler and cutting meat into smaller sizes to be packaged for sale.

E   Make ground meat by putting coarse ground into grinder then traying meat.

A   Unload deliveries by checking in truck, unloading pallets into cooler.

A   Service customer(s) by answering questions and/or filling special orders.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Must be at least 18 years of age.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

Ability to read and follow instructions

Verbal and written communicative skills

Basic math skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to lift over 50 pounds.

Ability to merchandise meat and cut retail cuts from primal cuts.
