MEAT MANAGER

DUTIES:

The Meat Manager is responsible for the overall operations of the Meat Department within the Grocery store which includes but is not limited to:

-Providing good customer service

-supervising, managing and hiring Meat Department employees

-Inventory control, including pricing and ordering of product

-Scheduling employees

-Checking in Meat Department deliveries and following up on shorts or damage

-Ensuring proper rotation of stock

-Maintain cutting list and ensure proper trim

-Other duties as assigned by the Meat Markets Supervisor

-Training of Meat Department Employees on policies and procedures including sanitation and safety.

-Inspecting the Meat Department to ensure Sanitation Compliance and to address any issues discovered.

-Ensuring Meat Department equipment is properly maintained and serviced.

-Timely ordering of Department supplies

-Hiring and disciplining Meat Department employees

ABILITIES:

Good verbal communication and problem solving skills. Basic proficiency in mathematics (counting, addition, subtraction). Ability to safely be near or around meat cutting and grinding equipment in the Department while it is in operation.
