External Job Description
What You'll Do:
As a Meat Assistant Manager at Festival Foods, you will:
  • Support the Meat Department Manager: lead daily operations in their absence and step in as needed.
  • Create a positive work environment by training, mentoring, and developing associates.
  • Grow the team: collaborate with the Meat Department Manager to write and conduct performance reviews, and conduct corrective action as appropriate.
  • Keep our meat department running smoothly: lead by example, maintain proper stock levels, and ensure accurate pricing and merchandising.
  • Ensure guests receive outstanding customer service-help them find what they need, provide expert advice on meat selection and preparation, and resolve any concerns.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe workspace in compliance with company standards.
  • Monitor sales and inventory to maximize department profitability.
  • Collaborate with meat and store leadership teams: Work closely with the Store Director, Meat Director, Training & Execution Specialists, and other department managers to exceed expectations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absence.

  • Education: High School Education or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience: 3+ of leadership experience (at least 1 years as manager) - retail, food service, fast food, or restaurant preferred.
  • Certification: WI Certified Food Manager License (Festival to reimburse if associate obtains while employed)
  • Ability to lead, coach and motivate a team
  • Great communication skills and cusstomer-focused mindset
  • Proficiency with technology and computer systems.
  • A solid understanding of warehouse (stock management and inventory control) in a retail or grocery setting.
  • Commitment to maintaining high food safety and quality standards.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
The physical demands and work environment described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
  • The employee must possess the ability to stand in place for a long period of time; walk the store; bend, stoop, and kneel regularly. Requires fine finger and broad manual dexterity, and eye-hand-foot coordination in order to operate equipment.
  • This position requires the employee have the ability to have full rand of upper body motion in order to occasionally lift stock. Requires the ability to perform repetitive tasks for prolonged periods of time.
  • Must possess functional sensory abilities in order to visually monitor the store, create attractive displays, and to operate equipment.
  • This position requires the employee to lift up to 60 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Working conditions consist of occasional exposure to extreme temperatures.

Work Schedule
  • The Meat Assistant Department Manager is a full-time position. The work schedule will include mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
