Job description

Job Summary: 
This position is located in theWestern Midstream' s Delaware Basin operations area with functional reporting out of our West Texas offices.   

Qualifications: 

  • Technician level will be assessed based on experience: experience in measurement and field operations is preferred. 
  • Proficient in the use, monitoring and repair of various meters used in measuring the flow of natural gas and crude oil products 
  • Experience in the use of computers and a working knowledge of Word and Excel 
  • Ability to work outside around heavy equipment under variable environmental conditions 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-focused environment 

Responsibilities: 

  • Collect and document product flows throughout assigned points in pipeline systems 
  • Calibration and maintenance of electronic and measurement devices 
  • Operation and maintenance of a portable and stationary gas and liquid chromatographs 
  • Schedule, conduct, report and perform GC sampling for measurement settlement tests 
  • Installation and troubleshooting of electronic flow data collection systems 
  • Experience in programming of flow computers associated with oil and gas systems 
  • Perform measurement calibrations and associated tasks in accordance with industry/WES measurement standards 
  • Perform installation and repair of natural gas and liquid measurement equipment, to include samplers. 
  • Perform calculations for flow coefficients, gas volumes and orifice plate sizes 
  • Monitor, identify, and communicate major fluctuations or unusual changes according to product flow in accordance with management/measurement guidelines 
  • Prepare various tickets, records and reports noting consumption during elapsed periods of time 
  • Installation and troubleshooting of communication systems 
  • Troubleshoot issues related to the measurement of oil and gas products and related metering equipment 
  • Respond to verification requests; collect actual measurement data 
  • Order, receive and stock parts associated with metering equipment 
  • Assist with composition of reports on measurement changes and adjustments 
  • Witness product purchase meter calibrations, proves, and settlement 
  • Perform good housekeeping duties as required 
  • Work in a safe manner adhering to all safety practices, procedures, and policies 
  • Accomplish job responsibilities/duties in accordance with Western Midstream' s Core Values and Best Practices 

Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required 
  • Certifications/Licenses 
  • Valid US driver's license with no restrictions that would prohibit driving a company vehicle is required 

 Travel Requirements: 

  • The percentage of travel required for this position is 0 - 10% 

 
Work Schedule:
 

  • This position will work 4-10-hour days-40-hour weekly schedule with occasional on-call & weekend coverage. Candidate must live within 75 miles of working location
