Job description

Position Summary:
Responsible for performing complex measurements of parts using calibrated measurement systems, creating measurement reports and analyze results. As part of the Receiving and First Article Inspection team, the Quality Measurement Technician is responsible for training others on the use of measurement systems and act as a liaison to other departments within the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned:
  • Perform complete measurements of parts or manufacturing tools (e.g. molding tool) using portable CMM like a Hexagon ROMER arm and optical 3D scanner from GOM (e.g. ATOS Triple Scan).
  • Create measurement reports and analyze measurement results.
  • Liaison to Engineering, Purchasing and Supplier Development, to provide regular feedback on supplier quality findings.
  • Develop and deliver training for measurement tools and train inspectors and other colleagues.
  • Optimize inspection methods to expedite inspections and manage equipment capacity.
  • Develop and deliver presentations and training to international audiences from all levels of the organization and its external partners.
  • Work with Quality Inspection Planner to provide feedback and updates to inspection plans.
  • Provide support for Corrective Action investigations.
  • Develop and maintain KPIs, quality statistics and chart quality metrics.
  • Other responsibilities as determined by Quality Manager.

Requirements
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education/Experience:
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering is preferred.
  • Must have 5 years of experience in use of calibrated measurement equipment.
  • Must be experienced in interpretation of technical drawings, specifications and Bills of Materials.
  • Working knowledge of setup of/ alignment to coordinate systems (e.g. reference point system) is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of GD&T is required.
  • Must be familiar with manufacturing and production processes.
  • Experience in use of ATOS Professional or PC-DMIS software is preferred.
  • Experience with developing and delivering training/ work instructions is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of FAA, EASA, Aerospace OEM and AS9100/ AS9102 requirements is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of standards ISO2768 and ISO1101 is required.
  • Must be familiar with standard Quality concepts, practices and procedures.
  • A background in risk analysis and mitigation is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma tools is preferred.
