Job description

Saronic Technologies is a leader in revolutionizing autonomy at sea, dedicated to developing state-of-the-art solutions that enhance maritime operations through autonomous and intelligent platforms.
Job Overview
Saronic is seeking a skilled Electrical Draftsman responsible for creating detailed Schematics and Harness Assembly drawings based on the specifications provided by engineers. These drawings serve as blueprints for manufacturing of harnesses. The role requires a strong understanding of technical drawing principles, knowledge of Zuken E3 or equivalent software, and the ability to translate complex information into clear and accurate representations. Draftsmen must also possess strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with other team members to ensure that projects are completed efficiently and accurately.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed harness assembly drawing packages in Zuken E3, ensuring drawings contain all information required for manufacturing and installation (wire lists, connector callouts, labels, notes).
  • Define and maintain best practices for: 3D harness routing and packaging in NX, 2D harness assembly drawings in Zuken E3, Manufacturing-ready documentation and release quality.
  • Review and approve CAD models and harness assembly drawings for correctness, clarity, completeness, and manufacturability.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex routing, packaging, and documentation challenges; partner closely with EWIS and EE engineers to ensure accurate translation of design intent.
  • Optimize drafting workflows, automation, and data consistency across NX, Zuken E3, and PLM/configuration management systems.
  • Interface with manufacturing and integration teams to prevent documentation-driven build and service issues; incorporate build feedback into standards and deliverables.
  • Train, mentor, and enable the drafting team on tools, standards, and processes; raise overall quality and throughput.
  • Support design reviews by proactively identifying CAD, routing, and documentation risks and driving resolution.

Qualifications
  • Experience: 7-12+ years of CAD and harness documentation experience with sustained technical leadership.
  • Expert proficiency with Siemens NX and Zuken E3 (or equivalent toolsets), including standards management and library/template ownership.
  • Deep knowledge of EWIS/harness design principles, manufacturability, and configuration control (redlines/ECOs/release discipline).
  • Demonstrated ability to review and approve complex harness routing and documentation with high quality and minimal oversight.
  • Strong cross-functional communication skills and ability to drive alignment between engineering and manufacturing.
  • Working knowledge of industry standards such as IPC/WHMA-A-620; familiarity with ABYC and ABS standards is a plus.
  • Ability to mentor others and improve team practices, tooling, and documentation quality at scale.

Physical Demands
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Occasional standing and walking within the office
  • Manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment
  • Visual acuity to read screens, documents, and reports
  • Occasional reaching, bending, or stooping to access file drawers, cabinets, or office supplies
  • Lifting and carrying items up to 20 pounds occasionally (e.g., office supplies, packages)
