Job Family STAFF - Part-Time Instructor Grade HK Salary $25.00 - Base Rate Department Continuing Education Reports To Program Manager Closing Date Posted on an ongoing basis FLSA Status Exempt - Not Eligible for Overtime Compensation First Review Date March 12, 2025
Position Overview
The Part-Time Continuing Education Instructor teaches and works with Recreation and Leisure and/or Continuing Workforce development courses, specifically with the Commercial Driver's License Program.
What you will be doing
  • Prepares and distributes course outline / syllabi to students
  • Teaches lecture and laboratory sections
  • Maintains accurate attendance records
  • Develops teaching and learning strategies that optimize student performance
  • Develops curriculum
  • Participates in textbook and technology committees
  • Complies with department and College policies and procedures
  • Works closely with Chairperson or designee to provide substitute instruction as needed
  • Assists with other services and activities such as: recruitment, retention and other functions as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned
What you need to succeed
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent from a regionally accredited institution
  • Driver Training Instructor License
  • Valid CDL Class A license with a minimum of two (2) years of verifiable tractor trailer driving experience demonstrating instructional competency
  • State Certification where applicable
  • Prior experience teaching adult learners
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work well with students, staff, and faculty
  • Ability to work in a multi-ethnic/multi-cultural environment
  • POSITIONS MAY BE AVAILABLE AT VARIOUS CAMPUS LOCATIONS
