The Food Production Worker prepares healthy food which is provided to the MCSO inmate population and instructs inmates on kitchen tasks. This position is involved in all aspects of food preparation, operating in a safe and secure manner within a jail environment.

Shift Schedule possibilities include:

• 1st Shift:6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., 5 days per week, with 2 consecutive days off.
• 2nd Shift:3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., 5 days per week, with 2 consecutive days off.

Upon hire, you will be given a set schedule and will be assigned a shift and days off according to the needs of the department. Candidates will then be trained on their assigned shift.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years old and eligible to work in the United States.
• Food Production Worker must complete a program approved by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
• Current Food Handler's cards are acceptable if unexpired.
• Must possess, or have the ability to obtain by the time of hire, a valid Arizona driver's license.
• Training that may beprovided on-the-job: FEMA NIMS - IS100 and 700; Safety; payroll; PREA.
• Prior to hiring, the Sheriff's Office requires that all candidates pass a background check.

Our Preferred Candidate has:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two (2) or more years of general experience in food preparation and service.
