Job description

The Mobile Crisis OutreachTeam (MCOT) is a team of mental health professionals who work collaborativelywithintheir communities to decrease suicide, increase safety, provide outreachto people with unmet psychiatric needs, reduce psychiatric hospitalizations, andmental health symptoms through immediate access to services.

The MCOT Lead positionprovides primary supervision to the MCOT, overseeing prevention, intervention, and postvention care. This position works with all MCOT staff, MH clinic staff,law enforcement, and other agencies within the community. This positionexercises extensive independent judgment and requires flexibility in schedulefor after-hours and weekend shifts. This position will monitor hospitaladmissions and discharge of individuals recommended for inpatient psychiatriccare. This position is responsible for coordinating expedited intake servicesas clinically indicated. The MCOT Lead may provide mental health services and supportsas authorized in Texas Resilience and Recovery guidelines. This position worksclosely with the Clinic Directors in their communities.

The MCOT Lead is a role model,demonstrating agency mission and values, and excellent person-centeredapproaches in their care and leadership.

You will get to: Primary Responsibilities Include:
  • Onboard, hire, and train MCOT and agency teammembers
  • Partners with Clinic Director to identify teamdeliverables, create staffing plans, and build schedules
  • Create a monthly on-call schedule
  • Monitors and ensures that the Team achieves atleast 80% on the QM Quarterly Review.
  • Supervise the performance expectations of MCOT
  • Support, mentor, and coach MCOT members, to includeannual evaluation of performance
  • Develop strategies for integration into currentcommunity systems and clinic processes
  • Attend intra- and interagency meetings withpartners, stakeholders, and peers
  • Ensures timely communication within the departmentand with other departments and agencies via written correspondence, email,telephones, and other means to ensure project follow-through and completion
  • Ensure all crisis activations are responded toaccording to TAC (Texas Administrative Code) requirements
  • Monitor crisis outcomes and dispositions
  • Provide intake/enrollment for persons in crisis
  • Collect, analyze, and report data in accordancewith associated deadlines
  • Comply with all HCMHDDC policies and procedures
  • Develop and maintain an atmosphere of respect,interest, and enthusiasm in the services provided
  • Monitors andcoordinates effective crisis follow-up to ensure continuity of care
  • Provide short-term counseling to the crisis caseload
Youโ€™ll definitely need:
  • A master's degree from an accredited college oruniversity in psychology, sociology, behavioral or human services, or a related degree with the ability to credential as a Qualified Mental HealthProfessional.
  • Current LPC, LMFT, LCSW, or Psych DLicense
  • A valid Texas State Driver's License.
  • Current automobile insurance and the ability to travel to individuals when necessary.
  • Must become certified in PMAB, First Aid, and CPR within three months of employment and maintain certification without interruption thereafter.
Preferred:
  • 2 years of experience providing crisisinterventions within a community setting
  • 2 years of experience providingdiagnostic and intake evaluations
  • 2 years in a supervisory capacity
  • 1 -2 years of experience innon-profit/grants management
