Summary:

At Gardner White Mattress, the Sales Ambassador plays a key role in delivering an exceptional customer experience that reflects the company's commitment to helping customers achieve better sleep through quality mattresses, sleep accessories, and personalized service. This position is responsible for engaging with customers in a warm, knowledgeable, and professional manner, helping them find the right sleep solutions to fit their comfort, lifestyle, and wellness needs. The Sales Ambassador thrives in a collaborative, team-oriented environment and demonstrates a passion for improving customers' sleep and overall satisfaction.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Create a welcoming and inspiring shopping experience by building genuine relationships with customers.
  • Help customers discover the right mattress, adjustable base, pillows, protectors, and sleep accessories that fit their needs, comfort preferences, and budget.
  • Follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction and build lasting relationships.
  • Collaborate with your team to achieve personal and store sales goals while delivering exceptional customer experiences.
  • Stay up to date on current mattress technology, sleep innovations, and product knowledge through training and self-guided learning.
  • Use in-store tools and systems to process transactions, check inventory, and manage customer orders.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing mattress showroom that reflects the Gardner White brand.
  • Take on additional projects and responsibilities as needed to support the team and store success.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Prior retail sales experience, especially in mattresses, furniture, sleep products, or related industries, is a plus but not required.
  • A passion for helping customers improve their sleep and an interest in mattress technology, sleep wellness, and comfort solutions.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building rapport and earning customer trust.
  • A strong customer service focus, dedicated to providing an exceptional and memorable shopping experience.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Proficiency in using computers for placing orders, processing credit applications, and managing customer transactions.
  • Exceptional listening skills with the ability to identify customer needs and recommend personalized sleep solutions.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and eager to continually expand knowledge of sleep products, technologies, and industry trends.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems is a plus.
Requirements:

Schedule Flexibility

You are available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required, to best serve our customers and support team needs not to exceed 25 hours in a workweek.


Physical Demands

  • Ability to move around the store during the entire shift.
  • May require the ability to lift and/or move, bend, stoop, climb, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Ability to assist customers with demonstrating mattresses, adjustable bases, and sleep accessories.
