General Summary: Support campus mathematics through instruction, curriculum, and student interventions. The position includes the duties and responsibilities below and other functions as assigned by the Executive Director of Academics or the Superintendent's designee.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned):
  • Assists and work with district personnel in the coordination of the mathematics curriculum for grades 6-12.
  • Work with principals on math needs within their building.
  • Provide demonstration lessons upon request.
  • Suggest and arrange math programs to enhance curriculum.
  • Assist with the development of benchmark, mid-term, and final examinations for grades 6-12.
  • Examine testing results and find additional strategies to target weak areas of instruction and students.
  • Develop and make available supplementary materials to enhance math curriculum.
  • Supervise the update and revision of math units and teacher guides.
  • Assist and train in the development of school site-based math Professional Learning Communities (PLCs).
  • Conduct teacher observations at the request of principals or if placed as an evaluator in SCLead.
  • Provide training for new teachers in the use of math materials and grade level math curriculum.
  • Keep abreast of current literature on math programs and state mandates.
  • Assists with state alignment with current textbook for teacher use.
  • Develop math pacing and curriculum guides.
  • Push ins and pull outs for student interventions, coaching cycles, and modeling.
  • Assists and coordinates district-level master planning, design, implementation, evaluation, and integration of math, as needed.
  • Any other duties assigned by supervisor.

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in education, Mathematics, or related field is required; master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of three years of teaching experience in mathematics.
• Experience in instructional coaching or leadership roles preferred.
Skills/Effort:
• Strong understanding of math curriculum standards and instructional strategies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with teachers and administrators.
• Ability to analyze data and implement targeted instructional interventions.
• Proficiency in technology integration for instructional purposes.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Working Conditions:
• Office and school environment with minimal exposure to environmental conditions.
• Physical demands are restricted to standard office activities and movement within classrooms.
• Occasional travel within the district for professional development and support visits.
