About Founders Classical Academy Online

Founders Classical Academy Online provides a rigorous classical education rooted in the liberal arts and sciences. The academy seeks to cultivate wisdom and virtue in students through disciplined study and the pursuit of truth.

Within the classical tradition, mathematics is regarded as a foundational discipline that trains the mind in logic, order, and precision.

Position Summary

The Mathematics Teacher will guide students in the disciplined study of mathematical principles. Instruction emphasizes conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, and the development of logical reasoning.

Students develop the ability to analyze problems, apply mathematical methods, and understand the underlying structure and order of mathematics. The teacher provides clear instruction, structured practice, and guided problem solving while fostering intellectual perseverance and confidence.

This role requires delivering rigorous instruction in a virtual classroom environment while maintaining strong academic expectations and supportive communication with students and families.

Please note – while this is an online school position and all instruction occurs virtually, travel and face to face attendance will be required several times per year to support in person state testing and student events.

Eligibility: Open to residents of Texas

Primary Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver rigorous mathematics instruction aligned with TEKS standards
  • Develop students' mastery of mathematical concepts and computational skills
  • Guide students in logical reasoning and problem-solving strategies
  • Provide structured practice and clear explanations of mathematical procedures
  • Assess student learning through quizzes, exams, and problem-based assessments
  • Provide timely feedback and academic support to students
  • Maintain strong communication with families regarding student progress
  • Participate in faculty collaboration and professional development aligned with the Founders mission
  • Use digital instructional tools effectively in the virtual classroom
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field
  • Strong mathematical content knowledge
  • Ability to communicate mathematical concepts clearly
  • Ability to teach effectively in an online environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Texas Teaching Certification (Math 4–8 or 7–12)
  • Master's degree in Mathematics or Education
  • Experience teaching mathematics in classical schools
  • Experience with online learning platforms
