Raytheon is seeking a seeking a Senior Systems Engineer specializing in algorithms to support advanced aerospace sensor programs.  You will provide technical expertise across multiple programs and Internal Research and Development (IRAD) efforts within Advanced Sensor Programs. This position is part of the Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities Center in the Airborne Surveillance RF organization.  This is an onsite role in Plano, TX.  

What You Will Do:  

  • Perform system level performance analysis to evaluate and optimize advanced airborne sensor capabilities
  • Develop, refine, and analyze algorithms to support mission-critical aerospace applications
  • Conduct trade studies to compare technical approaches and guide engineering decisions
  • Build statistical models and performance predictions for complex, multidisciplinary systems
  • Execute detailed data analyses following Raytheon engineering processes and best practices
  • Participate in formal and informal peer reviews; identify, track, and resolve technical issues
  • Provide clear, timely task status updates and deliver high quality work products to the team lead
  • Interface daily with engineering teammates, team leads, and cross-functional partners to ensure technical alignment
  • Support customer and program presentations by contributing technical content and insights
  • Collaborate with both internal teams and external stakeholders to drive successful program outcomes

Qualifications You Must Have:  

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience  
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: Signal Processing Algorithms or Models, Image Processing Algorithms or Models, Detection Theory, or Machine Learning.  
  • Mathematical modeling and analytical problem-solving skills 
  • UNIX/Linux environments.  
  • Programming experience in C or C++, and hands on experience using MATLAB or Python for data analysis. 

Qualifications We Prefer:    

  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance  
  • Advanced degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM preferred)  
  • Knowledge developing signal processing algorithms for airborne surveillance applications, including signal and image processing, physics-constrained modeling, digital communications, detection and estimation theory, or AI/ML model development and training techniques.  
  • Realtime programming for embedded or mission critical systems
  • Experience using software change management tools, version control systems, and established software development processes

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
