Job description

VACANCYInterim Kindergarten Teacher (Temporary – Maternity Leave Coverage)


Centerville-Abington Community Schools is seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Interim Kindergarten Teacher to provide maternity leave coverage at Rose Hamilton Elementary School for the 2026-2027 school year.


This temporary position will begin with the start of the 2026-2027 school year and is expected to continue through March 1, 2027, with the regular classroom teacher anticipated to return on March 2, 2027.


Qualifications:

· Valid Indiana teaching license in Elementary Education (or eligibility for licensure)

· Ability to create a positive, engaging, and nurturing classroom environment

· Strong classroom management and communication skills

· Commitment to fostering the academic, social, and emotional growth of young learners

· Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, administrators, and families


Responsibilities:

· Plan and deliver engaging, standards-based kindergarten instruction

· Assess student learning and maintain accurate student records

· Establish and maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment

· Communicate regularly with parents and school staff

· Perform all other duties and responsibilities expected of a classroom teacher
