Basic Job Functions:

The role of the Technical Service Metallurgist includes, but is not limited to, coordinating trials with customers, providing production capability to customers, providing customer feedback to production, providing product recommendations to customers, coordinating customer specification review and other documentation (ppap), participating in the development of new products and handling customer claims. This position will be located at the Crawfordsville, IN facility and reports to Sales. There are between 1-5 days of travel per week.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:
  1. BS or higher degree in Metallurgy or Materials Science, Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering and 2 years of relevant experience
  2. 5 Years of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Steel industry experience
  2. Tech Service experience
  3. Relevant training/experience in application engineering with formability, welding, fatigue, coatings, corrosion or NDT
