Materials Science AI Engineer
Pay Range: $60hr - $64hr
The Materials Science AI Engineer will design, develop, and deploy advanced AI and machine learning models to solve complex material science and physics problems. The role involves working with experimental and simulation data to build predictive models and optimize material processes. The position includes developing data pipelines, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and integrating AI-driven insights into research and development workflows. The engineer will also ensure reproducibility of research through proper documentation and workflow management.
Strong proficiency in Python and C++ programming.
Experience with machine learning and deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
Knowledge of generative modeling techniques including GANs, VAEs, and transformer architectures.
Experience with MLOps, model deployment pipelines, and CI/CD practices.
Experience with data preprocessing, cleansing, and feature engineering.
Strong understanding of materials science principles.
2-4 years of experience in data science, AI, machine learning, or data engineering roles.
Experience working with large-scale data and building predictive models.
Experience with cloud-based computing platforms and distributed systems.
Design and develop AI, ML, and hybrid models for material science applications.
Process and analyze experimental and simulation data.
Develop and maintain data workflows and pipelines.
Optimize data processing and model execution on cloud platforms.
Collaborate with scientists and engineers to integrate AI into R&D processes.
Apply analytics to optimize material synthesis and reduce defects.
Document code, workflows, and best practices for reproducibility.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Expertise in data science libraries such as pandas, NumPy, and scikit-learn.
Knowledge of cloud platforms and distributed computing.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or related technical field required.
