Job description

As a Battery Cell Engineer at Gotion Inc, you will play a pivotal role in leading the engineering decisions for new battery cell designs in collaboration with US OEM customers and our internal cell team. This position requires a deep understanding of cell technology and a strong background in engineering project leadership.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Collaborate with US OEM customers and the internal cell team to drive new cell designs from concept to mass production.
Work in partnership with internal teams to define performance criteria for cell designs, including electrochemical, mechanical, and safety requirements.
Negotiate requirements and final product specifications directly with US OEM customers.
Develop and implement test plans for validating new cell designs, analyzing and addressing failure modes.
Synthesize test results into program level impacts and regularly report to leadership.

Required Qualifications:

Master's Degree in a related technical discipline, PhD preferred.
At least 3 years of experience in hardware development, with roles available for more experienced candidates.
Strong foundation in engineering principles and a history of applying this knowledge to solve complex problems.
Proven success in working with cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams.
Experience in lithium-ion cell design, cell qualification, cell manufacturing, and project management is advantageous.
Quarterly overseas travel expected.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
