POSITION SUMMARY

The role of Material Planner directly supports the company's mission to develop and deliver clean power plants that make 100% renewable energy a reality for the world. Working together as part of the Material Management Team, reporting to the Team Leader Material Management, the Material Planner is responsible for ensuring optimal material availability and supporting efficient production processes.

The Material Planner works closely with sourcing, logistics platform, plant warehouse, and production teams to execute the material planning, driving operational efficiency and supporting the organization's production goals.         

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Plan and execute material procurement based on production requirements, including timely release of purchase orders and schedule agreements in line with approved lead times.
  • Use SAP, our Material Resource Planning (MRP) system, to track, forecast, and manage material flow, ensuring supply continuity while meeting inventory optimization goals.
  • Monitor daily material operations, delivery schedules, and supplier commitments to proactively identify shortages, backorders, and supply risks; take corrective actions as needed.
  • Manage supplier lead times, review forecasts from Global Sourcing for longlead components and maintain active supplier communication to ensure material availability.
  • Coordinate and escalate material delivery issues appropriately, monitoring supplier performance and participating in defined operational forums.
  • Maintain accurate planning and scheduling master data to support reliable production planning.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including Logistics, Engineering, Production, Quality, and Finance, to ensure timely material clearance and resolution of invoice or booking issues related to materials.
  • Ensure raw material inventory levels align with defined targets while supporting uninterrupted production line operations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


WHAT YOU HAVE

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associates degree (preferred)
  • 3+ years of experience in Supply Chain Management or Logistics Management.
  • 1 years of experience in an international Supply Chain position (preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain functions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office platforms (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel - medium to advanced level) and SAP MRP
  • Fluent written and spoken English; Spanish language skills are desirable
  • Responsible, structured, and independent work approach
  • High level of reliability, ownership, and ability to work collaboratively in a team
  • Ability to confidently handle changing challenges and quickly adapt to new situations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Flexibility to adapt to complex situations.
  • Ability to make sound decisions, escalate issues appropriately and coordinate daily tasks effectively.
  • Flexibility to work overtime and weekends.
  • Ability to travel domestic and international locations to project sites and on business as required with the ability to obtain a passport.
