Responsible for the management of the spare parts warehouse and MRO inventory operations including stocking levels and providing security controls of materials held in inventory. Lead the Material Control staff in support of the Blue Point project strategic direction and assist with building an organization that will expertly execute procurement and material control processes and integrate with other business functions. Provide leadership in identifying and implementing new practices in all material control processes to support the Blue Point Project and build supportive internal and external relationships within the project stakeholders and contractors.Job Description:

Ensure the accurate planning, tracking, storage, preservation, and timely turnover of all project materials and equipment from procurement through construction to commissioning. Responsible for the management of the spare parts warehouse and MRO inventory operations including stocking levels and providing security controls of materials held in inventory. Lead the Material Control staff in support of the Blue Point project strategic direction and assist with building an organization that will expertly execute procurement and material control processes and integrate with other business functions. Provide leadership in identifying and implementing new practices in all material control processes to support the Blue Point Project and build supportive internal and external relationships within the project stakeholders and contractors.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the creation of a highly collaborative material control culture by providing the appropriate level of support within the organization.
  • Provide leadership in developing and maintaining on-going efficiencies of the material control function Interface with Procurement, Engineering, Construction and EPF Contractor teams for awareness on long-lead materials and equipment and early identification of potential shortages.
  • Oversee material and equipment receipt at warehouse and laydown yards. Ensure verification against Purchase Orders, packing lists and MTO. Coordinate required receipt inspections with discipline Engineers and QHSES. Facilitate NCR process for damaged or incorrect materials and equipment.
  • Manage warehouse and laydown yard(s) in compliance with Blue Point procedures. Maintain material status reports, working closely with expediting and Engineering.
  • Ensure each incoming spare parts shipment is accurately received, reconciling with packing lists and bills of lading. Track and tag bulk and tagged equipment
  • Coordinate required material and equipment issuance from warehouse/laydown yards to construction contractors. Ensure: right material, right location, right time
  • Communicate material control related policies, practices, and process improvements to all affected personnel
  • Manage the warehouse and laydown yard operation in accordance with CF policies and procedures which include daily supervision of warehouse staff; establishing and adjusting work schedules; training staff; conducting monthly safety meetings, and establishing work priorities
  • Responsible for warehouse housekeeping including the interior and exterior of the building(s) and outside yard area(s). Warehouse MRO items received are identified and placed in their assigned locations, new MRO items are assigned to a unique location, and obsolete MRO items are removed from inventory and disposed of according to CF policies and procedures.
  • Ensure monthly progress is being made regarding the established key performance indicators (KPI) metrics.
  • Ensure MRO item activity is documented with warehouse transactions which include creation of issues, receipts, counts and adjustments. Ensure transactions are created for receipt of all materials received at the facility.
  • Schedule and monitor cycle count of the materials held in inventory; includes creation of count lists, count reconciliation, investigation of shortages and overages, and creation of count adjustment transactions.

  • Position Reports To: Manager, Procurement and Material Control
  • Subordinate Positions: Material Control Techs

Requirements:

  • BS/BA supply chain, business administration or related field. MBA a plus.
  • Experience with multi-billion-dollar EPC brownfield or greenfield projects (preferred)
  • Five years of related professional experience in supervising people.
  • Knowledge of material control practices and internal control objectives.
  • Experience with Procurement practices such as bid development, negotiation and contracting a plus.
  • Microsoft 365, SAP ECC/S4 Hana and or Ariba/Coupa a plus.
  • Comfortable working in ambiguity in a fast-paced project environment
  • Ability to work under schedule pressure
  • Ability to collaborate across site functions and with suppliers.
  • Proactive communication both written and verbal with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Influence and persuasion are expected with subordinates.
  • Knowledge of the functional discipline in order to troubleshoot routine challenges or problems. Works within established procedures to understand, analyze and solve routine challenges and problems specific to job and function.
